Establish Par Levels

Use the Establish Par Levels window to quickly enter par or low level for each item.  

Par Levels

The system needs information about the stockroom locations in order to provide reports.  You need to determine par levels for items in each location and enter them in the computer.  This allows the system to print restock and reorder reports based upon on-hand amounts compared to par levels. An item will need to be restocked when its on-hand amount has fallen below the established par level for the specified location.

To Set Par Levels

  1. From the Item Information window, under Common Tasks, click Establish Par Levels.
  2. Choose the stockroom location from the Stock Location drop down list.
  3. All items in the system are listed on the Establish Par Levels window.
  4. Enter the desired par quantity in the Par Level column.
  5. After all par quantities are entered, click the Set Par Levels button.
  6. In Item Information, par levels for specific items can be viewed on the Stock Levels tab. The item information can also be quickly accessed by clicking the item description.  The item’s information will pop up allowing staff to view or edit information based on their security setting.

Low Level

When the on-hand quantity falls below the low-level quantity, this is a signal for the system to re-order this item.  Low Level quantity can only be set for Central Supply location.

To Set Low Levels

  1. From the Item Information window, under Common Tasks, click Set Par Levels.
  2. Central Supply should be displayed as the stockroom location from the Stock Location drop down list.  Low levels can only be established for Central Supply Stock Location.
  3. Enter the appropriate low level quantity in the Low Level column.
  4. After all low level quantities are entered, click the Set Par Levels button.
  5. In Item Information, low levels for specific items can be viewed on the Stock Levels tab. The item information can also be quickly accessed by clicking the item description.  The item’s information will pop up allowing staff to view or edit information based on their security setting.

Save for Later - If quantities have been entered but you are not yet ready to set the par levels, click the Save for Later button in order save your entries on this screen until you are ready to have them posted.

Note:  The page will automatically save your entries every few seconds.  If you leave the screen without posting the records, you will be asked if you would like to reuse the entries the next time you return to this screen.
