The MDS is converted to a Zip Ready status when one of the following occurs:
• Non-comprehensives: when Z0500 signed
• Comprehensives: when V0200C signed
To create a zip file for a Zip Ready status MDS:
1. Access Work with MDS Assessments, and click on the MDS card that is in Zip Ready Status. This will take you to the Submission Center, or select the Submission Center tab.
2. Select Create Zip File located on the left Common Task. This will filter all of the MDSs that can be zipped for submission. The system will default to Zip Ready Status.
3. Check the checkbox in the first column for each MDS Assessment to be zipped.
4. Click Continue.
The zip file is saved under the following sample naming convention and ready for transmission to CMS.
