How to Set Assessments to Rejected

Once the MDS has a CMS Pending status, it can then be moved to Accepted or Rejected depending on CMS notification. To set an assessment to rejected status:

1. Access Work with MDS Assessments, and click on the MDS card that is in CMS Pending status. This will take you to the Submission Center, or select the Submission Center tab.

2. Select Set assessments to Rejected located on the left Common Task. This will filter all of the MDSs that can be rejected.

3. Check the checkbox in the first column for the MDS Assessment to be rejected. Only one MDS can be rejected at a time.

4. Click Continue.

The rejected assessment is now viewable in the resident MDS Assessments window, and the Scheduling View with the MDS Status of Rejected. Once set to Rejected, MDS is fully editable; user can run validation, RUGs and CAAs. Can also create zip file from this status.
